Dept. of Once In A Lifetime

The Impossible Has Happened- JANDEK LIVE!

Yes, the world's most mysterious and elusive musician has played his first and only known live set!

Jandek, the Houston enigma that has been releasing a series of haunting, discordant, disturbing and unforgettable albums for almost twenty years has, for the first time ever, and possibly the last, played a live gig.

As David Tibet reports:

I can absolutely confirm it was JANDEK live at 5pm on Sunday 17th at the Instal Festival put on by Barry Esson.

He played for an hour with Richard Youngs on bass and Alex Neilsen on drums.

The whole show came about after 7 months of secret negotiations and was done on the basis that Jandek's name was not used in ANY of the publicity at ANY time.

It was absolutely amazing--JANDEK was happy and relaxed and looked great and as Godlike as it comes.

Watch this space... JANDEK is on the loose and he is HUNGRY!!!!!!!

Wow!!! WTHAIDH's unofficial mascot is tearing up the boards! Click the photo for a larger version, click here for a detail shot of the man himself.

I'm getting hungry just thinking about this. I'm afraid I'd want to eat my data.

Sushi USB drives. Cory Doctorow:

These are easily the coolest USB gizmos: light-up chunks of plastic sushi with USB memory inline.
