Dept. of Press

A picture named bentpromo.jpg We have a review!

Maggie Osterberg, Bent, Not Broken. Terrific, of course. Standouts include "Mystery Turtle," "Red Cow in Heaven," "Tops Down!" "I.O. Lou" and "The Stamen Island Ferry." Much, much stronger sequence of tracks than the earlier version I heard. Extra work paid off well.

- Milo Miles, of NPR's "Fresh Air".

Dept. of Version Control, or Yeah It Looks Just Like Yesterday's Post

YEAH!!!! We gots us a winner here, folks! I can't wait until morning to post this, so I'm gonna jump the gun a bit and post this to my jamroom. Don't be mad, Robert!!!

A picture named Crabgrass [2].gif"(Robert C. Andrew's) Boneyard Blues v2.0" (QT stream) wherein I play Marc Ribot to Rob's Tom Waits and we make airy-scary. I play the spooky guitar, Rob does everything else. Oh, and I mixed and mastered the track.

Download the MP3 here.

IMO, this is looking to be some of Rob's and my best work.

Speaking of Robert, go checkout his website:

Dept. of Cross-Cultural Misunderstanding

A picture named arturo.jpgNew Song - LOST IN YOUR PANTIES. Find the New Song, LOST IN YOUR PANTIES, at the link. [New MacIDOL Songs]

Interestingly enough, this song is apparently about the last Pope. I think. Here's what Arturo had to say about it, via Sherlock's translation engine (wackiness may ensue):

LOST IN YOUR PANTIES

I am and I disappear

Flight like a God

I am discouraged and I compensated in the revolving silence of my eccentricities...

"Total you are of grace..."

Creative Selvática charmer by inertia

"the Gentleman is with you..."

The Paradoxical news Navel blind person

"Blessed between all the women..."

Immune to the outbreak of the time and the rumors

"Of a pedo I fall down to you Of two I raise to you and three... I send you to the cementery... "

(Garden of sávilas, capes and Geraniums)...

Ciao Pablo...

Arturo 1ero Jiménez. of April of 2005.

Hello to all in MacIDOL... this is part of the musical track titled "Lost in yor panties" and is part of a much more extensive work, dedicated to one of the most prominent figures of our contemporary historical scene. ("Pope John influential Paul II was an, charismatic to leader who undoubtedly accomplished many good things for the world. There am was the human to leader of the world's hundreds of millions of Catholics.")

"Lost in yor panties" was made parallelly, to the last days in life of Juan Pablo II - to whom is dedicated -.

The Mexican Pope, like Juan Pablo II autodenominó, deeply loved the religious Faith of the Mexican town, its food, its mariachis, its company.

In words of Juan Pablo II: "Mexico knows to dance... Mexico knows to say... knows to sing... but... more than everything gritar!!!... always faithful Mexico knows!!!...""")

Everybody remembers it here with great affection... with familiarity...

I do mine the words of condolencia of the President of my Country, Vicente Fox Quesada to the death of Juan Pablo II: "To be human... and spiritual... it is more than to only be man..."

The track of "Lost in Your Panties", which I present/display in this occasion, has an extension approximated of 15´:00¨ (fifteen minutes)... and to be able to get to listen to the sampled one of the galactic mariachi who contains this track, they must listen to it until the end... Please Robert, Gloomy, Kilroy, Maggie, DJ Phoenix, Paul, James, iFingers, Boris, Zebulon, Bananakiller... escúchenla everything!!!...

In general, I make the invitation to all that extensive that happens this way...

Any opinion or commentary well will be received.

They hope, friends of MacIDOL, likes the composition of this work... Thanks.

Have a listen!

Paul Brazier releases new song!

A picture named paulcow.jpgNew Song -" The Killing Fields". Find the New Song, "The Killing Fields", at the link. [New MacIDOL Songs]

Paul's new piece is a psychedelic swirl of sound with Cocteau Twin-like guitars bumping up against radically altered barnyard animals. How now, brown acid cow?

Dept. of Dubious Achivements

A picture named dubious.jpgTimbu gives us a qualified endorsement.

Every so often I check my Technorati listing to see if anyone new has linked to this fine enterprise and found that the newest link here comes from Jack Tim The Dripper, via his randomly chosen blog link. Not exactly enthusiastic, but hey, traffic is traffic. He can't be all bad- he is a Minnesotan, after all!

Oh, and speaking of drippers, real and faux, check out this bit of synchonicity:

Tim? Have you been a bad boy?
